A Lesson in Self-Control

Maybe we could learn something from these Trappist monks.
Sounds like an outstanding idea for a tent-making ministry. If you are ever in Belgium, check out this brew for me. Meanwhile, I’ll be at work on a Covenanter version. Wouldn’t the blue banner look great on a beer bottle? All I need is to discover a secret recipe from Richard Cameron, and I’ll be good to go.

I love the sublime mysteries of a good Belgian brew. I think you are more likely to find a Cameronian recipe for a single malt but who knows. What ever it is, if it has a blue banner on the label, I am buying!
Actually, coming from upstate New York apple country (Wayne County is the second largest producer of apples in the US), I have been thinking of trying my hand at an hard apple cider under the name Parson’s Pride- does that blur Steve Z’s vision of secular/sacred distinctions?

Let me know when you begin brewing! I have a friend who did ‘Reformation Ale’ for a while. It had Calvin’s picture on the label.
