Merry Christmas from Huckabee and Paul
I am sure no one has missed the controversy regarding Mike Huckabee’s What Really Matters ad.
Ok, I know that the commercial was a brilliant political move meant to pander to Christian voters and stress Mike’s credentials as a Christian Statesman… but still… I cannot help but appreciating it. Politics is important but not ultimate. Huckabee’s commercial reminds us that the things that “really matter” are not about the sword but the cross. It tugs on my sentimental heartstrings and made his stock go up in my eyes.
Less noticed was Ron Paul’s Christmas message. Ron Paul is also a Christian Statesman and a champion of the Old Right (Who said that paleo-conservatism was dead?). It is good to be reminded that Governor Huckabee is not the only Christian in the race.

BTW, paleo-conservatism is dead. Paul is not being supported by Republicans in my area but Libertarians. Pat Buchanan is a paleo-conservative, not Paul (IMHO)
